The fight for equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in health and social care goes on, both for patients and staff. That is why we have once again dedicated an issue of Nursing Times to EDI, our seventh to focus on this vital area since 2019.

We have a range of clinical practice articles designed to help you break down barriers, by understanding stigma and its impact on patient care, improving access and outcomes for d/Deaf patients and delivering end-of-life support to the homeless community.

We have also interviewed a disabled nurse who has found herself battling the NHS itself to be able to work, while campaigner Roger Kline highlights his latest report on racism in health and social care, Helené Donnelly rails against political rhetoric that tries to undermine EDI, and others reflect on being neurodivergent or from overseas.
